Theyshootn Presents Winter in America II - February 16th
Theyshootn presents their first exhibit of 2017, Winter in America II (the follow-up to last year’s enthusiastically embraced exhibit of the same name). Based on Gil Scott-Heron’s classic song, Winter in America II will feature new work from some of the best photographers throughout the country, while touching on themes such as poverty, community relations with law enforcement, and political discontent.
Continuing with tradition, no monetary cover will be charged; instead, attendees are asked to bring a new/gently used hoodie to donate to the Hoodies for the Homeless initiative. Theyshootn raised 200 hoodies last February for the local homeless community, and are aiming for 300 this year.
Due to the involvement in last year’s exhibit, Theyshootn are asking the Instagram community to help curate the show. To participate, simply tag all of your Winter in America photos with #WIA2 for a chance to be featured in the exhibit.
It all goes down Thursday February16th at 6pm, at the Jiberish Flagship boutique in Denver (2650 Walnut St)
Featuring sounds from DJ Vandelay and performances by Milky.Wav (8pm) and Sur Ellz (9:45pm), with beverages provided by Red Bull & PBR.
