Commemorating an iconic year for the Grateful Dead. '69 marked a lot of firsts for the group and set them on an unstoppable and unforgettable journey into music and American history.
Aoxomoxoa was released in June '69 and was the record to have lyricist Robert Hunter as a full-time contributor to the band, cementing the Garica/Hunter songwriting partnership that endured the rest of the bands existence. This was the first record recorded in band's home, San Francisco area.
The graphic features the depiction of a wolf that would later be featured on Jerry's legendary guitar customized by Doug Irwin that would become a staple of the Dead's live shows.
