It has been something we have wanted to do from the beginning.... our own Jiberish Concept store. A place where we could interact with our clients directly, try out new ideas, create limited edition items, and brand ourselves within the community. Even in causal discussions about it years ago, we knew that if we did it, we had to come correct. The proper neighborhood was one of the biggest focuses for us, and we could not have ended up in a better spot. The Jiberish LoHi Concept store is steps from the Platte River, Downtown, and the Denver Skatepark. We are neighbors with The 400, Emage, Unity, Colt & Gray and a host of great restaurants and bars.

When we found the place it was in need of a few coats of a paint and some other work. We brought in our friend Andrew Witmer from www.jclayenvironments.com to get the job done. Andrew is an absurdly talented interior designer and carpenter, and he sat down with us to help create a retail presence and look that was unlike anything else we had seen. The previous occupant had the space set up a bit differently than we had envisioned, so there was some serious work to do. We wanted to gut it and start over from scratch. It was a wine accessories shop and the photos below should give you an idea of what it looked like before we got in there with Andrew.

Together we put together a plan and a layout that would revamp the location to fit our style. We wanted our LoHi store to be crisp, clean, and eco-friendly. Andrew worked with us to build our shelving, counter, and display areas with lumber from Colorado pine trees that were infected and killed by the Mountain Pine Beetle. The wood has a unique grey/blue striping in it from the fungus that the beetle carries with it into the tree. It gives the wood a very distinctive look and is visually appealing while at the same time beneficial from an environmental standpoint.

This design was inspired by various elements of fashion, including high end boutique, urban, and branded flagship stores, to create a completely original retail presence. The opening of this store is a big step for us as a brand, and it will allow us to continue pushing the creative envelope as we add additional products and accessories to our existing offering.

Some eyes were opened during this process for both us and for others who have watched us from the beginning. Stop by and see what you think. To those who doubted us, sorry to disappoint, but we ain't going away.
