www.myspace.com/projectlogic The theorem of turntablist as musician has been long proven in the capable hands of DJ LOGIC, whom with jazz as his foundation has become a wax innovator by crossing genres and sprinkling his sound across the map. As one of the world's most accomplished turntablist's, DJ LOGIC is widely credited for introducing jazz into the hip - hop realms and is considered by most as a highly respected session musician and an innovative bandleader. Since his emergence in the early nineties amidst the Bronx hip-hop scene, the New York City based deejay has been amassing a veritable mountain of collaborations ranging from the likes of: MEDESKI MARTIN AND WOOD, CHRISTIAN MCBRIDE, VERNON REID, CHARLIE HUNTER, JACK DEJOHNETTE, JOHN MAYER, BEN HARPER, MOS DEF and THE ROOTS, to name but a few. These days, DJ LOGIC is focusing on studio endeavors, producing notable projects such as: Re-imagination with jazz piano phenomenon ELDAR ; collaborating with VERNON REID on a project he co-founded called the Yohimbe Brothers ; touring with CHRISTIAN MCBRIDE in support of Live at Tonic ; participating in a side project called SOLESIDE (featuring KYLE HOLLINGSWORTH from STRING CHEESE INCIDENT and SPEECH from ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT) and co-anchoring a rock band with JOHN POPPER (The John Popper Project featuring DJ Logic) . LOGIC'S body of work also includes three highly accomplished solo albums (Zen of Logic; The Anomaly; Presents Project Logic), all released on Ropeadope Records.
Michael Coriano is our most recent addition to the Jiberish design family. He's a Colorado cat raised by New Yorkers, and boasts an impressive mix of ethnic backgrounds from Puerto Rican to the Czech. Introduced to curious minds at Jiberish's first art gallery exhibit The Crowning he knocked it out of the park with his day-glow canvases "Chief Rocka" & "sOultry," as well as a brilliant monochromatic piece "Math in the 48 Keys of Life." Coriano currently attends the Art Institute of Colorado, rapidly producing corporate and freelance graphic design concepts—all while continuing to contribute to the Jiberish design family. He hustles through an über-busy schedule, yet still has time to pioneer absurd one-liners and comical quips across the Denver Metro area and beyond. Keep your ear to the streets for more piping hot butter from this slick brother.
Blake joined Jiberish in spring of 2006 and was instrumental in creating the 2006/2007 line. He divides his time between Boulder, Colorado, and Huntington Beach, California. "Both of these places have unique cultures, art and atmospheres that affect me in different ways," says Blake. "I try to couple the influences that I take from both locations together, and fuse them through design. I enjoy computer design and take pleasure in making a statement through keenly planned placements of abstract figures. I never would consider myself an artist, but instead someone who has managed to dredge creative skill from persistent experimentation with art technology."
07/08 was Matt's first year with Jiberish and he made himself at home quick. Some of the more banger pieces this year were the artistic brainchild of Yerman. Most notably the Treez and Zeebz and Rollers art showed that his style meshes well with that of Jiberish. Matt hails from Cali where he is a busy college student and comes up with the hot digital fire in his spare time. Rest assured Matt will be a vital ingredient in Jiberish 08/09 the line up.
Chip has been helping out the Jiberish crew in one way or antoher for a few years now and we are always excited to have him around. He brings a style that is Jiberish-worthy to all aspects of his life and work. |
